What does ADIDAS stands for?

That's what we get for finishing our 10km race. An adidas visor and a finishing medal. I think the medal looks nice. As for the 42km runners, they get an extra ADIDAS finisher's t-shirt. There's no goody bag like SHAPE run but the experience is worth it coz never run in the dark. Hahaha... Really admire the determination of those doing the 42km and 84km.

Any idea what does ADIDAS stands for?

ADIDAS means 'All Day I Dream About Sex'. Hahaha.. Just kidding... it sounds better if it is 'All Day I Dream About Sports'. Or it could be 'All Day I Dream About Soccer'. Cool ya... come to think of it... the phrase really fits nicely.

BUT actually, ADIDAS actually comes from its founder, Adolf (Adi) Dassler. It's a combination of his nickname (Adi) and first 3 letters of his last name, Dassler (Das).

Nothing is Impossible = )

We all did it!!! ALL of us completed the run, even the virgin-runners, the sick and the unexperienced ones. I especially salute my 2 friends doing the 42km for the 1st time. One just recovered from 3 days of high fever and another never did any training before. They took 6hrs30++ mins and 9hrs30++mins respectively. My colleague finished her's in 5hrs30++mins.

Even PIGGY did it... really proud of her. She and her colleague is virgin-runners. I quite like running at night as there's no sun but it's still very HOT coz there's no wind at all. Overall, this run is well organized but one thing I really didn't like was the water point was limited. I almost died of de-hydration. I only managed to drink at about 7km. Not sure about the rest but I really need to drink to keep going. The previous run I joined had water point every 2-3km.

Well, I'll post some pictures up in FB when free. Plan to go a STEPS class later. hehe... CONGRATS to all!! I believe that when you really want to do something, you can! Thanks be to GOD and my new runners that my knee didn't pain till the last km. Can't wait to see the exact timing in 3 days time. = ))

D-Day: Adidas Sundown Marathon 2009

Today (30th May 2009) is 'D' race day.... Sundown, people go zZz but tonight, Piggy, Ms.Blur (she will be cursing me when reading this...) and I will be sweating all the way to complete the 10km (starts at 8:30pm) and one friend of mine will be fighting with all her mind trying to complete the challenging 42 km (starts at 11:59pm). Another friend of mine doing the marathon is down with high fever so I don't think she can make it tonight.

The 42km would be a very interesting route, unlike the boring 10km run. It consist of straight road, bumpy and curvy road including bridges and overhead bridges. I'm pretty worried for that friend of mine who didn't do training. Well, I wish her all the best of luck... maybe a heroic marathon runner will rescue her when she is not feeling well. = )

Tapir was asking me to blog about my running preparation. Well, I didn't really train for my running but just going for gym cardio classes... on and off doing some runs on the treadmill. Does that count?!? Haha.. anyway, I'm doing it for fun and not for competition as I know my knee very well. Just need to be well and mentally prepared.

Piggy scolding me coz I didn't keep to my words for resting and not going to gym. I'm going for STEPS class later afternoon before the run tonight. Can't help it... butt itchy one day no go gym... feels like something is missing. kekeke... Will make sure I do it lightly and not hurt myself.

Hope the weather will be good tonight coz right now (1030am), the sky is sooo dark... it's like a storm coming... hahaha... If weather good, body good, mind well... it would be an enjoyable smooth run. Just need to come back rest rest... bath, wear the t-shirt and bring the race bib and tag along. Think would need about an hour to reach the race venue.

New Runners doing a GOOD Job

I'm beginning to like my 'NEW' runners more and more. Today I managed to run 1km in 08 mins 15 secs, while waiting for my 'Mr-Late' instructor to come. I shall rest tomorrow and maybe run 1 LAST time on Thursday before the actual run to 'season' my NEW runners a bit. = )

Hmm... I think I quite like my new runners. Today tried running with it in GYM and my knee didn't pain that much. Hahaha... or it's just in my mind.

After 4.0km, manage to go a 'STEPS' class. I find it quite comfy and the support is quite good, though not as 'cushiony' as my pair of ASICS. I know it's not advisable to wear new shoes for run but my old pair of ASICS is getting bit loose and not so comfy. I'll see how it goes before deciding to wear it for my run this SAT. = )

My NEW Runners = )

Just got my 'NEW' pair of Running shoes today. It's the 'Women's Air Pegasus +25'. My favourite 'NIKE' and it's 'Murasaki' in colour. I hope this would be a 'COMFY' pair. Plan to get another pair of 'ASICS', design may not be my favourite but cushioning wise it is quite good. Design wise, I still like 'NIKE' the best of all. = )

CROCS Crazy Sale 2009

Today my wallet bleeding... after 'CROCS Crazy Sale' at EXPO. I didn't get everything that I wanted as some were out of stock but I managed to get my favourite 'CAPRI' at $30. Last year, it was not on sale and the usual price is about $69.

Wanted to get my family each a pair but I guess no luck. I bought my twin nephews each a pair with jibbitz (little cute accesories at the holes of the crocs) and I even got a pair for cutie pie. Hahaha.. I know she can't walk yet but it's sooo cute, just can't resist to get her a pair of baby pink crocs. I got my brother and sis-in-law sandals too.

Piggy also manage to grab a couple of pairs herself. This year's sale is more organized compared to last year's chaotic situation. We went there about 9am and there were already Q starting there, even though the sale only starts at 10am. People here buy things like it's FREE.
