Today's Horoscope

You have what it takes to go the distance -- and you'll get to prove it very soon.

Casting your gaze down the road is good, but your ambitions may be distracting you too much today. Turn your eyes toward something that is much easier to see: Today. Living in the moment sounds so silly, but it's the key to happiness. And best of all, it's easy to do. Forget the future, you can't predict it and you can't control it, but you can control just about every minute of how you live today. Enjoy every aspect and every challenge -- after all they'll be gone tomorrow.

** Easier said than done. Hahaha...

10-10-10: I made it! ^=^

10-10-10 ->> 10th Oct 2010 marked my 1st 30km. I'm so HAPPY that I made it alive.

1st of all must 'THANK GOD' for the beautiful weather else I would not make it within my targetted time of 4.5 hours. In the morning, it was raining and I thought... Oh no.... not another Yellow Ribbon run in the rain. Hahaha...then the rain stopped just when the race was about to start. Yippee!!! After the rain, the weather was pretty cooling all the way till 11am. Mr. Sunshine only woke up after 11am.
I only managed to run non-stop for the 1st 12km. After that, I started to have short breaks in between runs. The 1st 20km was still OK. After that, my legs started to get very tired though waist up can still make it. My waist down basically gave up on me after 25km. I walked a lot during my last 10km and was like dragging my legs at some point.
I took forever to complete my last 1km. The timing ain't great but I'm glad I completed my 1st 30km. I think I'm OK for 21km now but for full marathon definitely need LOTS and LOTS of training to avoid 'jelly legs'. Hahaha...
And here's the medal we got for finishing the race. This round's run have no nice goody bag and the running T is just a normal T. Anyway, a lot just joined to clock the 30km.
The next run wil be on 24th Oct 2010 - Nike City Run 2010. ^=^

3 months

This is 3 months growth of hair... and after a short trim couple of weeks ago... just to shape it up at the side and clean up the hair round my ears. I find it suddenly growing very slowly at this stage. = (

Piggy tells me I need 2 years to grow back my previous shoulder length hair. Hahaha... does that mean that I will not be able to grow it long before the next round? *Sigh.... Anyway, I think it's quite cooling to have this hairstyle. haha...

"LUCKY" Lately?!?
--------------------
Lately, I'm in lucky streak which is a very seldom occassion for me..... it started with winning a 'universal travel adapter' through a quiz entry, then follow by a $20 voucher through submission of suggestions and yesterday, another $50 voucher at work. Hope I will win a big lucky draw prize next Sun during my company Dinner & Dance. ^=^

Missing Piece in your Puzzle... ^=^

What would you do if there's a 'missing piece' in your puzzle?

-> Spend all your time searching for that 'particular' piece till you find it to fit in your puzzle?

-> Go buy another new set of puzzle and ignore the old incomplete puzzle?

-> Give up on the puzzle totally and forget about it?

-> Ignore the 'missing' piece and just frame up the complete puzzle with missing piece. Nothing's perfect anyway. It's ART! ^=^

* just crapping... haha...

2 more weeks to go...

2 more weeks to go... and it will be my 1st 30km run on 10th Oct 2010. Hope I will enjoy my 1st long distance run and complete the run injury free. If my 30km went well, I might try for a full marathon next year with proper training. ^=^

Universal Studio Singapore

Piggy's company had some good deals in buying Universal Studio' tickets so we end up visiting USS = Universal Studio Singapore on Saturday (4th Sept 2010). Buy 1 free 1 tickets so each of us only need to pay SGD34. The place ain't that big so spending 1 day there is just nice.

We only spent about 8 hours there as we went in only after 11am and left about 7pm plus coz one of my friend was not feeling very well after one of the 'Ancient Egypt' rides. We didn't stay back for the fireworks at 9:30pm. Anyway, the whole place and rides are closed at 7pm. Only left 'Hollywood' section still open up till 10pm.

We didn't go in the Casino as Singaporeans and PRs have to pay SGD100 deposit which are un-refundable. Lucky we don't gamble so does not affect us.

We visited the 'Far far away' and took pictures with SHREK and Princess Fiona, watched the 4D Shrek show and Donkey singing at the Midnight Club.
I bought myself a cute 'Gingerbreadman'. Really can't helpt it... I heard it calling to me. Haha.... Now, it is sitting on my bed and his name is 'Gingy'... ^=^

Look at all the lovely SHREK Babies.. so cute ya... but they're all GREEN so don't appeal that much to me... maybe to Ms. Mo but she loves HULK more....

We met PO the Kungfu Panda there as well and gave him a big hug and took pix with him.

And here's Mr. Frankenstein.... he was so excited when he saw Ms. Mo... jumped down from the bench and go hug her... hahaha... Green attraction...
Other than the 'Far far away' attraction, there's 'Madagascar'. We only managed to go for a couple of rides and shows but basically visited the whole theme park. It was a FUN outing.

Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2010 - Wet Sunday

This morning, Piggy and I went to Changi for the Yellow Ribbon Prison 10km run and it was raining cats and dogs. We were hoping the rain would stop but it went on all the way till even after we finish the run. We were all given a transparent poncho and we all look so funny running with the ponchos.
This is the 1st time running the whole stretch of 10km with the poncho and all wet...
Ms Mo's clean shoes with the 'yellow laces' before the run....
This is how my shoes looked like after the run and collection of the baggage in the mud... = (
The Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2010 Carnival....
This year, we're given a key for the finisher momento.... a key to unlock d' 2nd prison....^=^
Despite the chaotic baggage collection, overall I still enjoyed the cooling run eventhough I'm damn sleepy and tired after the 'Universal Studios' trip the day before.... ^=^

Purr-fect Eye Sight

This morning I just went for my post-op 1st week review and doc said that I have perfect eyesight after the checkup. The surgery was successful and my eyes are recovering fast. I don't really encounter extreme dry eyes so far BUT just that I keep experiencing blurrness when it is too bright. Doc said that this would be normal for the 1st 2 weeks and it will slowly get better.

The 1st day of the surgery was pretty horrible. I didn't really feel any pain but just slight discomfort when they put pressure onto my eyes. It was pretty scary when they create the flap at my corneas and flip it open to laser my eyes. After the surgery, when I reached home, I basically cannot open my eyes at all and it was tearing excessively non-stop. I could not even open them to drip the eyedrops. The feeling is like you have just cried 3 hours non-stop.

I had to diligently drip 3 different types of eye drops in my eyes every 1 hour with 5 mins in between of each drop. So HAPPY today's the last day to drip the anti-inflammatory drops. Just gotta keep dripping the natural tears drop for at least a month. Now I can enjoy my active life without wearing my spectacles or contact lenses. Just pray that the 'lau hua' does not come so soon. hahaha... ^=^

Yellow Ribbon Run 2010 Race Pack

Just collected my race pack this afternoon with Piggy. The run will be next Sun (5th September 2010) 7:45am at Changi. This year the running-T is so much better in sizes and material. No more running in 'guni sack' like last year. =p They even give a free hand pouch this year.

Hope the weather would be good and everyone will have a good run next week. My 1st run after the LASIK treatment. Just gotta make sure the excessive sweat don't get into my eyes. ^=^

* Today's STEPS sucks... 'I HATE IDIOT' *

Sunday Walk with Piggy

I received an invitation from the 'Citizenship and Population Unit' (CPU) of Singapore for an outing for this Sunday morning at the Southern Ridge Walk. I had been there about 2 years ago but I remembered Piggy wanted to go there as she have not been there before. Therefore, I just asked CPU whether I can bring a friend along... and Piggy comes along with me.

This morning we were a bit late and Piggy was damn hungry... the weather does not seem very good as well. When we reached 'Vivo City' station where we met up with the rest, Piggy's face lightened up.... hehehe... coz we're given hearty breakfast with some free gifts for the outing. (umbrella, fan cum torchlight and a cute li'l brush cum highlighters) We're not the LAST ones to reach after all. Hahaha...
This is the yummy breakfast we have. Piggy took the Poached Salmon, Tuna Salad and Chunky Egg Sandwich while I took the Caeser Chicken, Black Pepper Chicken and Chicken Salad Sandwich. Piggy said she could not finish it all as she didn't walk the full 9km. Hahaha...

This is the welcome gifts we received and the umbrella was pretty handy as it was raining...
The walk was suppose to be about 9km starting from 8am till 11:30am but due to the bad weather, the walk was cut short and the route was amended. We waited till 9am plus for the rain to stop before we start the walk. It was still drizzling all the way during our walk. We only managed to cover part of the Henderson Walk, Mount Faber and Hort Park. If it's not because of the rain, Piggy would be able to have a view of the whole Southern Ridge Walk. She will have to make another trip again in future.

This is the starting point of the 'Henderson Waves'....
Look at the dark sky.... Altogether there were about 40 of us....
I wonder if there's no rain, would we have taken these routes.... think Piggy will shake head...
This is our park guide 'Robert' explaining all the stuff to us...

Buh-bye Spectacles...

2 more days to go and I will say buh-bye to my spectacles...

Will be going for my LASIK surgery coming Tues. I can't imagine my cornea being cut open... sounds pretty scary but after weighing all the pros and cons, I decided to go for it.

Gonna be so sad coz can't go for my daily gym workouts for a week after the surgery... = (

Just keep my fingers crossed that everything will go smoothly. ^=^

6 weeks later...

This is how it looks like after 6 weeks... growing very slowly... I still have to wait longer to wear my lovely clips and use my colourful headbands. I think I should be able to go for a hair cut after 6 more weeks to make it look neater. ^=^

Jiangnan's 1st stop: Hangzhou

Wow... time flies... 2 month plus have past and I have not blogged about my latest trip to China and Tapir have been diligently blogging about her EURO trip. I didn't even managed to post up any of my pictures in FB. ^=^ Shame on me....

My trip to Shanghai was from 5th June till 14th June 2010. Oops... I should say I have visited JiangNan instead of Shanghai. I have visited places like Shanghai, Hangzhou, Dongyang, Yiwu, Hengdian, Suzhou, Nanjing and Wuxi during the China tour with my parents and aunty. The places I visited is called ‘JiangNan’ because it is situated south of the YangTze river. The trip was 8D7N and we extended another 2 days to visit the ‘Shanghai Expo 2010’.

We spent about 2 days 2 nights in Hangzhou visiting places like Long Bridge Garden, Leifeng Pagoda, Dragon Well Tea Farm, Xixi National Wetland Park, Cheng Huang Pavillion and went to watch an indoor show on ‘Night of Hangzhou’.

The famous ‘Long Bridge Garden’ Is one of the lover bridge in HangZhou , according to the folk story, Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai was send each other back for 18 times at this bridge.

This brige is a famous spot for couple taking their wedding shots.

You can actually view the ‘Leifeng Pagoda’ from the Long Bridge Garden.

We stopped by at this place called the ‘Dragon Well Tea Farm’ which is famous for its ‘LongJing’ Tea. I’m not a person who appreciates drinking tea except for my favourite ‘teh-c-peng’ which is an unhealthy tea drinking habit. Hahaha...
Tea plantation up on the hillside....

Little Teapot at the garden....

Different types of tea leaves....

Didn’t spent much time there but it is a compulsory itinerary where there are people explaining on different types of tea and what’s the benefit of drinking each types of tea. We left shortly after some people make some purchases on the tea leaves and some goodies made from tea leaves.

Next, we went to ‘Xixi National Wetland Park’... Nothing much to do there but just enjoying the scenery and snapping some nice shots.

We also went to this place called ‘Cheng Huang Pavillion’ to have a bird’s eye view of Hangzhou city and to taste the local snack ‘Lotus Roots Starch’ while listening to the traditional music instrument playing there.

Lotus Starch Dessert... Tasteless, gluey and sticky... but suppose to be good for health...

Lastly, we went to watch an indoor show called ‘Night of Hangzhou’. It was a pretty interesting show.
