Registered for the 10KM Run... no turning back...

Successfully registered for the 'Adidas Sundown Marathon 2009' 10KM run and my Race ID = '10KMW6173'. There's no turning back now but to start training for it after CNY break. Piggy's gonna join me training as well as the 10km journey. This would be her 1st run. As for me, it's my 1st run this year and 3rd run for me. My 1st was the Saucony Passion 15km run and 2nd was the SHAPE 10km run. Hope maybe one day I can do at least 1 time of a Full Marathon. =)

Today's Reading

Living on a budget could save you a lot of time -- and money. Assess your finances.

In Detail
Living on a budget isn't as unbearable as you think it is! Besides helping you save money, it's a great way to organize your life and get focused on your priorities. Spend some time today sorting through how much you're spending and what you're spending it on -- you will immediately see a few areas that need to be changed. Getting a better picture of your financial situation today could save you a lot of time -- and money -- later on. So don't put things off any longer.

* it's time to do something to the expenses... must cut down a bit on the 'shopaholic' aggresiveness... haha...

1st Outing in Ox Year 2009 - HSBC Treetop Walk

Had a GREAT walk with a bunch of friends to the 'HSBC Treetop Walk' at the Macritchie Reservoir Park today. (Sat: 17 Jan '09) Everyone was damn tired after the 3-4 hours walk of about 12km in total including crossing the tree-top bridge. Everyone had their exercise of the day till one of the member almost fainted coz 6 years never do any exercises. Hahaha... While walking, everyone was discussing on the whereabouts of the next outing... Well, the next one will have to wait till everyone's back from CNY long break... = ))

Adidas Sundown Marathon 2009

This would be my 1st run in year 2009, the ADIDAS Sundown Marathon 2009. I'm pretty surprised myself that I'm actually wanting to register for the run voluntarily. I guess when you want to do something, you will just do it naturally without any excuses or reasons. Maybe coz this year the shirt looks nice and it's PURPLE. Hahaha...

Asking my hommies and a couple of friends to join me in the fun run as well. 2 are joining and 1 still considering... 1 directly reject with the answer, "Sundown I go to bed and sleep..." hahaha..

The Race details as below:-

Date: 30th May 2009 (Sat)
Venue: Start and End Point, Changi Point.
Time: TBC for the Women 10km; For the Ultra-Marathon 84km 8:30pm; Marathon 42km 11.59pm; Team Relay 8:30pm

** I wonder why there's no Men 10km.... haha....lucky Mr Chicky, else need to run with us.

First challenge in the year... hopefully this time I would have a better timing and of course, better results don't just come without any practise. Will try to slot in some running practise and get my hommies to run along since they also need some exercise. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone...kekeke...

My knees are still not perfectly well... hope it's not too bad for it. Just gotta try to live like Adidas's tag-line "Impossible is nothing..." hahaha... I remember what one of my instructor said... 'Mind over your Body'. Hmmm.... MIND VS BODY... I think my body always win. hahaha.... guess need to try harder to train my mind to overcome my body. =p

Red Cliff 2 - thumbs up!

Today, I went alone for a movie after my Nihongo lessons. My friends went to watch 'PONYO' at another cinema and I was very eager to see the continuation of Red Cliff, so I went to watch alone. 'RED CLIFF 2' was really GOOD. It's a movie worth watching in cinema and personally I think it was even better than 'Red Cliff Part 1' because there were a lot of humour here and there between Zhou Yu (Tony Leung) and Zhuge Liang (Takeshi Kaneshiro). Anyway, I enjoyed both the movies. I like the way they strategize their war to defeat their enemies and the strong determination that they have, plus the wittiness of Zhuge Liang. BUT, the funny thing is that the bad guy Cao Cao (Zhang FengYi) actually lose the war indirectly due to a woman, Zhou Yu's wife, Xiao Qiao(Lin Chi-Lin). Hahaha... so hamsap man will never win the WAR. =p

TodayHoroscope

The Bottom Line
Don't get upset if things don't progress as far as you wanted them to. Be patient.

In Detail
From the quality of your cup of coffee, you already know you shouldn't expect a lot out of today. But don't get upset if things progress even less than you think they will. One day's failure does not mean that you will continue to underperform. The worst thing you can do is to lose heart and stop working towards this goal. You are where you need to be, so just clear your mind and try to accept the fact that you cannot control this timetable -- just yet. Let other people take the wheel for a while.

* hmmm... seems like quite accurate for today... just must take it easy and be more patient... guess the more i expect... the more disappointed i would be... if it didn't turn out as expected...

Which is the GAY Ear?!?

People usually have this perception over things they see or hear... whether it is a myth or fact... that will be up to oneself to find out. hahaha.

Some of the things would be like... Tattoo means samseng.... girls with boy-cut hair means tomboy... ring on the ring finger means that person is no longer available... and another thing would be... if a guy wear earring on one side of the ear, he could be a gay.

BUT which side? Right or Left? Is it a myth or a fact? Funny... why would the guy go announce to the whole wide world that he is GAY by wearing the earring?!? or maybe looking out for some potential non-straight partners... though there's nothing wrong being a GAY... everyone has their own rights in choosing their path.

I read some articles and forums... some state that RIGHT = GAY and LEFT = STRAIGHT. Funny... Think now a lot of guys whether straight or gay also likes to wear earring. Some even wear on both sides. So what does it mean if wear both sides? hahahaha...

So, who have the answers? RIGHT or LEFT?!?

Himawari Japanese Ala Carte Buffet

My family was in Lion City during Christmas weekend so I gave them a treat at this new place which my colleague recommended, "Himawari Japanese Restaurant" at Alexandar Road. Well, the food is not bad... sashimi were freshed and it's ala-carte... order and eat as much as you want... eat till you drop but it was bit pricey though. Weekends and public holidays is about $40++ after tax and kids are half price.

Ate so much till everyone said 'NO MORE!!!'.... hahaha... even my 2 lil cute monster nephews can't stand it... they ate so much of their favourite SUSHI. There's other choices like sukiyaki and shabu-shabu but we all can eat no more. hahaha... I always lose out when I go for buffet... =p

New Year 2009 Resolutions

New Year... New Resolutions. Well, this time I hope I put in more effort. Hahaha... * keep my fingers crossed.... looking good so far... still very positive in mind....

Some targets are repeating from last year as it is not totally achieved yet... some are new and some are being revised. To start my new year, I need to work hard to achieve the following:-

1. Shed off at least 5kg to get rid of the spare tyres.
2. Nurture my soul with more spiritual food.
3. Be more consistent in my gym workouts and challenge myself more.
4. Be more serious in my dancing and enjoy... better still if can 'dance like nobody's watching'...
5. Stop procrastinating and be more decisive.
6. Work harder on my Jap lessons and take JLPT3.
7. Schedule regular blood donations or some meaningful activities.
8. Plan for a short travel trip coz economy no good, cut budget. =p
9. Learn how to swim well and this would be an advantage to learn diving. Tennis can wait...
10. Diving course if there's budget and time. = )

I think I should be doing a more frequent checkpoint this time to make sure I achieve the goals I set. Hahaha... There's always so much to do and time is never enough for me. = )

Last day of 2008

How can an 'Original' copy of contract be multiple copies and every party have the original?!? Maybe I'm 'Sakai' or I need to study more of the law in 'lion city'... either that or the property agent trying to be funny. Some more, can you do it handwritten at every single copy and in different ways of writing and considered all to be originals? *faint...

Today, we all shifted to stay at the new barnyard. We all spent a horrible New Year eve... no party... no good dinner.... no countdown with fireworks... but late dinner and didn't have enough time to do last minute shopping and unpack stuff.... = ((

It took 4 hours just to settle the contract and get the house keys... Never see such 'kitty-cat' person before... almost wanna punch someone.... anyway, gotta control myself before anyone gets hospitalized. hahaha.... anyway, glad it's all done and we have shifted... just pray that everything will go smoothly for year 2009.

Hope tomorrow will be a better day with a start of all new things.... = ))

* HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009 TO ALL!! *
