Purr-fect Eye Sight

This morning I just went for my post-op 1st week review and doc said that I have perfect eyesight after the checkup. The surgery was successful and my eyes are recovering fast. I don't really encounter extreme dry eyes so far BUT just that I keep experiencing blurrness when it is too bright. Doc said that this would be normal for the 1st 2 weeks and it will slowly get better.

The 1st day of the surgery was pretty horrible. I didn't really feel any pain but just slight discomfort when they put pressure onto my eyes. It was pretty scary when they create the flap at my corneas and flip it open to laser my eyes. After the surgery, when I reached home, I basically cannot open my eyes at all and it was tearing excessively non-stop. I could not even open them to drip the eyedrops. The feeling is like you have just cried 3 hours non-stop.

I had to diligently drip 3 different types of eye drops in my eyes every 1 hour with 5 mins in between of each drop. So HAPPY today's the last day to drip the anti-inflammatory drops. Just gotta keep dripping the natural tears drop for at least a month. Now I can enjoy my active life without wearing my spectacles or contact lenses. Just pray that the 'lau hua' does not come so soon. hahaha... ^=^

Yellow Ribbon Run 2010 Race Pack

Just collected my race pack this afternoon with Piggy. The run will be next Sun (5th September 2010) 7:45am at Changi. This year the running-T is so much better in sizes and material. No more running in 'guni sack' like last year. =p They even give a free hand pouch this year.

Hope the weather would be good and everyone will have a good run next week. My 1st run after the LASIK treatment. Just gotta make sure the excessive sweat don't get into my eyes. ^=^

* Today's STEPS sucks... 'I HATE IDIOT' *

Sunday Walk with Piggy

I received an invitation from the 'Citizenship and Population Unit' (CPU) of Singapore for an outing for this Sunday morning at the Southern Ridge Walk. I had been there about 2 years ago but I remembered Piggy wanted to go there as she have not been there before. Therefore, I just asked CPU whether I can bring a friend along... and Piggy comes along with me.

This morning we were a bit late and Piggy was damn hungry... the weather does not seem very good as well. When we reached 'Vivo City' station where we met up with the rest, Piggy's face lightened up.... hehehe... coz we're given hearty breakfast with some free gifts for the outing. (umbrella, fan cum torchlight and a cute li'l brush cum highlighters) We're not the LAST ones to reach after all. Hahaha...
This is the yummy breakfast we have. Piggy took the Poached Salmon, Tuna Salad and Chunky Egg Sandwich while I took the Caeser Chicken, Black Pepper Chicken and Chicken Salad Sandwich. Piggy said she could not finish it all as she didn't walk the full 9km. Hahaha...

This is the welcome gifts we received and the umbrella was pretty handy as it was raining...
The walk was suppose to be about 9km starting from 8am till 11:30am but due to the bad weather, the walk was cut short and the route was amended. We waited till 9am plus for the rain to stop before we start the walk. It was still drizzling all the way during our walk. We only managed to cover part of the Henderson Walk, Mount Faber and Hort Park. If it's not because of the rain, Piggy would be able to have a view of the whole Southern Ridge Walk. She will have to make another trip again in future.

This is the starting point of the 'Henderson Waves'....
Look at the dark sky.... Altogether there were about 40 of us....
I wonder if there's no rain, would we have taken these routes.... think Piggy will shake head...
This is our park guide 'Robert' explaining all the stuff to us...

Buh-bye Spectacles...

2 more days to go and I will say buh-bye to my spectacles...

Will be going for my LASIK surgery coming Tues. I can't imagine my cornea being cut open... sounds pretty scary but after weighing all the pros and cons, I decided to go for it.

Gonna be so sad coz can't go for my daily gym workouts for a week after the surgery... = (

Just keep my fingers crossed that everything will go smoothly. ^=^

6 weeks later...

This is how it looks like after 6 weeks... growing very slowly... I still have to wait longer to wear my lovely clips and use my colourful headbands. I think I should be able to go for a hair cut after 6 more weeks to make it look neater. ^=^

Jiangnan's 1st stop: Hangzhou

Wow... time flies... 2 month plus have past and I have not blogged about my latest trip to China and Tapir have been diligently blogging about her EURO trip. I didn't even managed to post up any of my pictures in FB. ^=^ Shame on me....

My trip to Shanghai was from 5th June till 14th June 2010. Oops... I should say I have visited JiangNan instead of Shanghai. I have visited places like Shanghai, Hangzhou, Dongyang, Yiwu, Hengdian, Suzhou, Nanjing and Wuxi during the China tour with my parents and aunty. The places I visited is called ‘JiangNan’ because it is situated south of the YangTze river. The trip was 8D7N and we extended another 2 days to visit the ‘Shanghai Expo 2010’.

We spent about 2 days 2 nights in Hangzhou visiting places like Long Bridge Garden, Leifeng Pagoda, Dragon Well Tea Farm, Xixi National Wetland Park, Cheng Huang Pavillion and went to watch an indoor show on ‘Night of Hangzhou’.

The famous ‘Long Bridge Garden’ Is one of the lover bridge in HangZhou , according to the folk story, Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai was send each other back for 18 times at this bridge.

This brige is a famous spot for couple taking their wedding shots.

You can actually view the ‘Leifeng Pagoda’ from the Long Bridge Garden.

We stopped by at this place called the ‘Dragon Well Tea Farm’ which is famous for its ‘LongJing’ Tea. I’m not a person who appreciates drinking tea except for my favourite ‘teh-c-peng’ which is an unhealthy tea drinking habit. Hahaha...
Tea plantation up on the hillside....

Little Teapot at the garden....

Different types of tea leaves....

Didn’t spent much time there but it is a compulsory itinerary where there are people explaining on different types of tea and what’s the benefit of drinking each types of tea. We left shortly after some people make some purchases on the tea leaves and some goodies made from tea leaves.

Next, we went to ‘Xixi National Wetland Park’... Nothing much to do there but just enjoying the scenery and snapping some nice shots.

We also went to this place called ‘Cheng Huang Pavillion’ to have a bird’s eye view of Hangzhou city and to taste the local snack ‘Lotus Roots Starch’ while listening to the traditional music instrument playing there.

Lotus Starch Dessert... Tasteless, gluey and sticky... but suppose to be good for health...

Lastly, we went to watch an indoor show called ‘Night of Hangzhou’. It was a pretty interesting show.

1st time Kayaking ^=^

Had a GREAT time today at Macritchie Park doing my 1st kayakking with Piggy, gym kakis and friends. There were altogether 10 of us... all gals. Our kayak instructor, Eddie was a pretty nice and funny guy. We went for the 'Kayaking Orientation Programme' (KOP) and it was a 3 hours programme from 9am till 12pm for the price of $35. We learn the basics of kayaking, how to handle the kayak, how to paddle and some safety tips before we go do practical in the lake.

The weather this morning was very good... though it was drizzling and raining towards halfway kayaking in the lake, we still have lots of fun. The funny thing is that we still get darker after the kayaking though there's no sun and we used sunscreen lotion.

It was amazing that we were able to kayak for about 2km++ from the starting platform towards the end and back. Initially it was pretty scary as I was sitting in a one-seater kayak while some were using the 2-seaters kayak. When I start to paddle, the kayak was rocking side to side and I thought I would fall in the water. Luckily, I managed to balance myself and it was very fun once I got the hang of it.

'Ms. Mo' aka MCC almost killed me this morning coz she keep purposely use her kayak to bump into mine. I was so angry that I scolded her coz trying to drown me as I dunno how to swim. This is kayaking and not 'bumper kayaks'... plus she swims like a mermaid so of coz she dares to bump here and there... hmmph!! =p

Overall, we like it very much and will go for another session next time. ^=^

* Hope arms will not ache tomorrow... I miss my step class... no steps 4 me today. = (

Shut Up if Nothing Nice 2 Say...

I wish some people would not just simply make remarks like they know what's really happening when they dunno a thing... especially when the remarks prick ppl's heart...

***************************

Today I discover a new song from the new step class that I go to... When I asked the instructor what's the name of the song, he reluctantly want to tell me... saying that the song is kinda bad. Then when I insisted, he spell out the name of the song for me... F.. U.. C.. K.. U... hahahah...

But the song really didn't sound vulgar... how can a song scolding people sound so nice and soothing... Check it out! -> F.U.C.K. U.

Hmm... maybe I should dedicate this song to the ones who likes to simply make remarks to hurt other people's feelings.
