Year 2009 Resolutions Review
Wow, time really flies....
It's time again to review on this year 2009 resolutions and come up with new ones for year 2010. 1 more day to go... and it will be year 2010 and I have been in Lion City for 2 years++.
1. Shed off at least 5kg to get rid of the spare tyres.-> Half achieved-Only 2-3 kgs shedded though going to gym so often coz ate too much. Anyway, still happy as I got fitter and more toned up.
2. Nurture my soul with more spiritual food. -> Failed-Not very promising this year, need to ganbatte next year.
3. Be more consistent in my gym workouts and challenge myself more. -> Passed-Think I overdid it... hahaha... Going everyday and day and night... now, sometimes even go during lunch time. So crazy about STEPS... now doing Level3 step... = )
4. Be more serious in my dancing and enjoy... better still if can 'dance like nobody's watching'...
-> Half achieved-Better in steps and techniques now but still got a lot of room for improvement. Dance class have been postponed till further notice next year, due to everyone being very busy during year end and festive seasons.
5. Stop procrastinating and be more decisive. -> Passed-Getting better at making decisions, though sometimes still can end up changing my minds. = p
6. Work harder on my Jap lessons and take JLPT3. -> Passed-Just waiting for my results now, only out in March 2010. Should be able to pass though not flying colours.
7. Schedule regular blood donations or some meaningful activities. -> Failed-Just went to visit Blood Bank this afternoon and got rejected the 2nd time due to low iron level. Doc assured that it is normal for female but not enough to donate to others. Guess just need to nourish myself and try again next year.
8. Plan for a short travel trip coz economy no good, cut budget. =p -> Passed-Had a wonderful trip with hommies and friend to Hokkaido. I love Japan! Besides that, managed to go back to Kuching for a short weekend break... had fun and ate all the food I missed though had a lot of obstacles along the way. haha..
9. Learn how to swim well and this would be an advantage to learn diving. Tennis can wait...
-> Passed-Thanks to JO for teaching me some of her 'mermaid' skills for free. Can swim 'freestyle' and 'breast stroke' with better techniques now though stamina still sucks. Been quite awhile since our last swimming session. :p

Well, at least more than half of my resolutions are achieved for this year 2009. Guess just need to work harder next year. So, everyone should just 'GANBATTE' all the way!!!
* Can't wait for tomorrow as it's only 1/2 working day... parents gonna come and I will bring them go eat and shop till they drop. hahaha...

Banana Protector
Nowadays, they have containers for everything and anything...
Piggy just got this container to protect her daily dose of banana... Now, she can transport her banana from home to office safely without squashing it. Hahaha...
This is how the 'thing' looks like... her friend mistaken it for something else when he saw it.
Hmm... but I just wonder... what if the banana is not in that particular shape. hahaha...

Countdown... JLPT3 ^=^
Time really flies. It's the end of the year and about less than 1 more month to go, year 2009 will be over... and it's like I didn't do much this year. Hahaha...
JLPT3 exam this Sun (6th Dec 2009). Can't wait for it to be over... to rest for awhile.
Pray hard that 'MCC' will pass the exam and may Piggy pass her JLPT2 as well, though it's her trial exam to test her proficiency level. Good luck to 'Tapir' and other half in AUS too. Well, I hope I will get good marks.
GOOD LUCK to all that's taking JLPT exam this Sun and also those running the Standard Chartered Marathon. Next year, I will be able to join the run since next year no exam. = )
GANBATTE KUDASAI!!!

Cycling@East Coast Park
Woke up so early this morning at 6am and got out of the house at 630am, just to go to East Coast Park for cycling. Can't recall when was the last time I cycled, without taking stationary bike into consideration of course. Hahaha... coz had been doing that in gym lately. Lately it had been raining day and night but luckily, today the weather was really good. Thank GOD!!!
It was really FUN!!! Lucky I still remember how to balance and cycle. kekeke... I wanted to see how far is 20km of cycling. Next year, gonna join the 'OCBC Cycling 2010' on 7th March 2010. Piggy and a couple of friends are joining too. Still considering whether to take 20km or 40km.
I think the distance is OK... just scared that when it is competitive, the way the cyclist trying to cut each other... can be pretty dangerous and there's risk of falling. haha... I guess I should not think too much. 40km will get the cyclist jersey and 20km only the normal t-shirt. Hmm....
Since my company is sponsoring... maybe I should just take the more expensive one. =p
Today, extremely 'SHIOK'... after my cycling, went for 3 STEPS class in a row. Now I'm resting my poor knees... so sorry for them but I just can't help it. Hahaha... the STEPS class was like keep calling me... = ))

1st time watched movie till i'm sick...
My colleague invited me to watch this pre-screening of this new movie 'Paranormal Activity'. She won these 2 free tickets from Golden Village. It's got reputation of being one of the best low budget horror movie. As I love to watch horror movies so I agreed to accompany her to this show.
An 'OVERVIEW' on the movie....
After a young, middle class couple moves into what seems like a typical suburban “starter” tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night.Especially when they sleep. Or try to.
Then they installed cameras to monitor their daily lives to check on any surprises if any...
I find it quite boring at the beginning and I could not stand all the way to the end as I left halfway through the show. This is the 1st time I actually walked out of a cinema... felt really sick and I actually threw up. It's the way the show is filmed... camera shifting here and there till you get a bit dizzy. They probably should put a warning note... those with 'motion sickness', please watch at your own risk. Hahaha... Too bad I didn't get to the scary part yet, if there's any. Can take it mentally but can't take it physically. =p
I still wonder what's so great about this movie with all the 'good comments' about it. It really make me sick I know... Maybe will go check out the ending online.
After throwing up my lungs, I'm so damn hungry now... think I better quickly go sleep now. zZz.

Influenced by 'FREE Gifts'
Think I stay too long with 'Piggy'... buying things like 'si-lai'... bought the 2 packs of sweets below because of the 'FREE' gift. Hahaha... I'm actually more interested in the 'FREE' gift than the sweets, though the sweets tasted quite good.
Here's the CUTE 'FREE' gift... a MOO-MOO clock... buy 2 packs of sweets, then you can bring him home. Hahaha... Cute right?!?

And now, Piggy's little pig clock got companion.... BUT Piggy was complaining that the 'MOO-MOO' clock is ticking too loudly so he can't stay in the bedroom. =p
So I will bring him home to KL.

GE Women 10K Run
Date: 1st November 2009 (Sunday)
Time: 7:00am
Venue: The Padang
I hope my legs are still in good condition for the run that morning... after whole morning of hiking at Bukit Timah on Saturday morning and 1 hour of spinning in the afternoon. If the run goes well and my legs are still alive, maybe I can go STEPS in the evening. Hahah...
Here's the goodie bag... It comes with a FILA running T, sports bag and some free samples/vouchers as well as lots of GE brochures. = )
This time number also not so 'ONG'... it's '5286'... if you read it in canton... it sounds like 'ng yee fatt lo'... cannot get rich.... hahaha....
Spin 4 Life
Just collected the 'Spin4Life' tank top and goodie bag on Saturday at the 'Breast Cancer Foundation'. Kinda weird it comes with the toy car ya... haha... it comes with one but my gym mate gave hers to me, so that I can give them both to my monster nephews. The pink tank top is simple and quite nice.
This is roughly how the event is going to be like... the event is going to be for the whole day but Piggy and I only signed up for the 3-4pm slot. I hope it's going to be fun and we're joining to support the BCF activities.
Time: 3-4pm
Venue: Plaza Singapura
BIRD-DAY: 17th OCT - Getting Older & Wiser?!? hehe...
It has been quite some time since I last blogged. Backlog here and there... as usual. Will try to post some blogs up today. Had been drowned with my JLPT3 homework lately... exams in about 6 weeks time. Very stress!!! After joining the JLPT3 prep class, sensei gave tonnes of notes to read and tonnes of homework to do. I just wish I have 'Doraemon' with me. Haha...
I just got 1 year older 1 week ago on 17th October 2009. Didn't really have much special celebration this year but just EAT and EAT and EAT with my friends. I didn't manage to go back to KL so no celeb with my family. = ((
Ate so much that I think my waist line also grew 1 inch wide. Went to eat at Ricciotti (Italian), M.O.F. (Japanese) and Sizzler (Western). Didn't manage to take picture on the Jap food coz everyone was already very hungry and we forgot about it. Hahaha... Went to eat Jap food with my hommies. Ate so much that day... it was so 'YUMMY'!!
Thanks to all for the 'Birthday Wishes' through email, sms, online through Facebook as well as all the gifts received!!! = ))
My rommie got me a special gift of 'AEROBATHON', which is an aerobic marathon. A great gift for 'GYM FREAK' huh... hehe... We went for a 2 hours non-stop aerobics workout at East Coast Park. It was so damn hot that day coz they started the activity late. We ended up leaving earlier with the goodie bag, which comes with a free 'CROCS' sandals. So, indirectly the 'CROCS' is from Piggy. hehe...
My best gym buddy 'Ms. Troll' gave me a gift, which looks like kid's 'Party Pack' (a box with different small little gifts) wrapped up with wrapper that looks like newspaper. Hahaha... how creative of her and it's very thoughtful. I bet she's very happy the moment she saw the 'lips' earrings... = p

This lovely necklace is from my hommies, Mr & Mrs. Chicky. I would say it looks like a giraffe but some say it looks more like a reindeer. Well, either 'giraffe' or 'reindeer' it is still beaufitul.
Another lovely necklace with 'Angel' pendant is from my gym buddy. We always hang out together at gym especially during STEPS class. She's a very NICE person I met at gym.
And this nice 'BUDDY' moo-moo magnet is from 'HPH'. It's very thoughtful of her to get my hommie to pass me this gift though I didn't get a chance to meet up with her. Now, I got another cow stuff to add to the 'Moo-Moo' collection at home. Hahaha...
This HP strap is from Faye.
My 2nd bro is very funny. He always remembers my birthday wrongly and always call me on the 19th October to wish me 'Happy Birthday'. He never fail doing it every year and he did it again this year. *Faint.... I remember the only year he remembered correctly was last year and it was due to 'Facebook' sending him a reminder. Hahahaha.... Always so BLUR like sotong. =p

Magnets Shopping Spree at Chinatown
Today, I asked Piggy to accompany me go to Chinatown run some errands. I had to help a friend to buy some 'Lion City Magnets'. She wanted to sell the magnets online.
I find that the magnets nowadays looks so much nicer and there are more varieties now compared to last time. I like to collect magnets a lot but I realized that I'm in Singapore for so long and I never had a magnet from Singapore at all. Hahaha...
These are the magnets that we manage to get after walking from one end to the other end of Chinatown at different offer prices. There are over 20 pieces of magnets here.

Here's some of the nice magnets chosen. We like the license plate the most. = )
And last minute, I ended up buying some cute keychains for my friend to sell too. So cute ya...

What is 'FORGIVENESS'?!?
What is 'FORGIVENESS'?!?
This is the definition from 'Wikipedia'....Forgiveness is typically defined as the process of concluding resentment, indignation or anger as a result of a perceived offense, difference or mistake, and/or ceasing to demand punishment or restitution.
How far would you go to forgive? OR how much can one forgive?
It's really pretty subjective as even I myself do not have the answer, though we're always taught to be forgiving since young especially that I'm brought up as a Christian. Of course, it is always good if one can be 100% forgiving no matter what happens.
Does forgiveness takes into consideration of the below items?
- size of matter
- cost of the mistakes
- relationships of the person we're forgiving
- physical impact
- mental impact
Does it make any difference if the person making the mistakes is your...
- parents
- siblings
- spouses
- boyfriend/girlfriend
- best friends
- friends
- colleagues
- bosses
- or totally stranger
OR does it hurt even more if they are closely related to you? I think it is always easier to forgive someone that is not related to you than those that mean so much to you....
There's always this 'COMMON' saying...
'No matter what happen, he/she is still your 'RELATIONSHIP*'...
* replace with the relationships above
e.g. No matter what happen, he/she is still your 'PARENTS'....
BUT is it TRUE that NO MATTER WHAT HAPPEN, things WON'T CHANGE?
Would you forgive IF....
...your other half is having an affair with your bestfriend?
...your parents molested/raped you?
...your parents is having an affair?
...your spouse molested/raped your kid?
...you get infected by HIV virus due to your unfaithful partner?
...your wife aborted your kid without your consent and the reason is she is not ready yet?
...you got raped by your best friend?
...your sis/bro snatch your boyfriend/girlfriend?
...you lost your love ones due to some people's selfishness?
...your other half told you that they had sex transplant after years of marriage?
And they all tell you that they are very sorry and will not repeat the same mistakes again...
Will things ever be the SAME again?!? Even if you have decided to forgive and forget or do not forget at all... Can you really forgive totally and love each other 'unconditionally' again?!? I believe things would NEVER BE THE SAME anymore...
Once a mirror is BROKEN, no matter how you mend it back... there's gonna be cracks all over... and no matter how fine the lines of the crack, things will NEVER be the SAME again. It's like a DEEP cut that will leave SCARRING forever.
Well, it is always one's CHOICE to 'FORGIVE'....
Anyway, here's some QUOTES to share and ponder upon... = ))
"Forgiveness does not always lead to a healed relationship. Some people are not capable of love, and it might be wise to let them go along with your anger. Wish them well, and let them go their way"... by Real Life Preacher
"It really doesn't matter if the person who hurt you deserves to be forgiven. Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. You have things to do and you want to move on"... by Real Life Preacher

Yellow Ribbon Run Results
Results out... Not as bad as expected, though I'm expecting improvement. It's almost the same with the 'SHAPE' run's results. I believe I would do better if not because of my knee.
Piggy improved a lot this time by running 10km in less than 1 1/2 hour. Omedeto!! : )
Hope I can do a better timing for my GE 10km run in Nov. Ganbatte!! :p

I'm gonna miss my 'GYM'!! = (
I took MC on Monday due to my sprained right knee after the 10km 'Yellow Ribbon Run'. It didn't feel that bad right after the run. Got scolded by doc... telling me that my knee is giving me warning when I feel pain during the run and I should not continue the run. But I have to finish what I started what.... = (
Doc banned me from running till my knee recover... err... say like 2-3 months. Arrghh... cannot eh, my next run is early Oct and another one in early Nov. Luckily, the Oct run is only 5km. OK, I will be good for awhile... after these 2 runs, will not sign up for any runs till I recover.
I have to stay away from GYM for awhile. OH NO!!! I'm gonna miss the 'GYM' and all my favourite classes so much!!! : (((
But I do feel that my knee is already better today but my hommies gave me one kinda look and shake head... alright, I will stay away at least 1-2 weeks... by right at least 1 month * sigh...
There goes my favourite 'STEPS' class... and I thought I can advance to the next level. I managed to do the 'Intermediate Steps' dy....
There goes my favourite 'STEPS' class... and I thought I can advance to the next level. I managed to do the 'Intermediate Steps' dy....
Next, I will miss my 'BODY PUMP' class.... after being away for 1-2 weeks, weight also need to drop dy... then all the flabs also come back. hahaha....
Then, I'm also gonna miss my once a week 'AEROBICS' class. Not very high intensity but quite fun to workout in the class BUT of course I don't dress like 'Smurfette'... haha...
Gosh! My body gonna itch all over coz cannot go to GYM. Think I'm already poisoned to become a 'GYM FREAK'. Hahaha...
Maybe I should change my schedule to lower intensity workout that does not impact much on my knees... but it won't be that 'FUN' anymore...
Say like...'SPINNING'?!? My gym buddies love 'spinning' a lot... I'm still learning how to love it... hahaha....though it's a good exercise and sweat 'A LOT' but still find it a bit boring...
Or go to 'BALANCE' or 'YOGA' classes for some stretching and flexibility.... Sometimes I feel like falling asleep attending 'YOGA' classes coz maybe I'm bit impatient and the movements are all very slow.... plus I'm not very flexible....
Lastly, I guess I would just resort to 'SWIMMING'. A good exercise for all parts of body and it won't impact on my knee. Just need to work hard on my strokes and the right techniques. = ))
Staying at home is no good coz I tend to snack more at home. :p
I'm gonna miss my 'GYM'!! Already missing it now.... = (((

1 Litre of Tears - 1 リットル の なみだ
It all started when the gym instructor played the song that I really like during the cool down session... when I asked him what's the title of the song, he told me, "Only Human by K" and it is the theme song for this drama called "1 Litre of Tears".
There are 2 more songs that are really good in the movie other than the main theme song "Only Human". The songs are called "3 gatsu kokonoka (9th March)" and "Kona Yuki" by Remioromen.
The title of the drama actually caught my attention and I started google-ing on it. Subsequently, I found out that my colleague have the drama and the songs. Just finished the drama and donated 1 litre of tears watching it. It is a really touching and inspiring drama based on a true story of how this girl, 木藤亜也, Kitō Aya struggle through her life when she found out that she had this disease called 'Spinocerebellar Degeneration' at the age of 15.
This disease have no cure and it is pretty much suffering when you have all the mental ability in place but you will slowly lose control on all your physical ability. Eventually, you will end up on wheel chair or even bed-ridden and cannot even control over small little things in daily life like eating by your ownself.
I really admire her fighting spirit and she never give up on herself, as she managed to hang on to live for at least 10 more years before she died at the age of 25. Her family members were all very supportive towards her and never give up on her. After watching the series, you would be even more grateful in your daily life. : )
I really like the actress in the series. I think she is really good and can potray the character very well. Her name is "Erika Sawajiri" and she is very 'kawaii' (meaning 'cute')
The story is written based on the diaries written by the actual person. It was published shortly before her death. She had actually inspired a lot of people especially those who have the same disease like hers. She have written the diaries till the day she cannot hold on to a pen. One of her diary entry actually states, "I write because writing is evidence that I am still alive."
Check it out if you have the time... it's just short 12 episodes. There's even an episode of a special edition movie on it. = ))

Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2009
At last, finished my 10km Yellow Ribbon Prison Run this morning. Things didn't really go well as expected.... = ((
1st... cannot really wake up.... suppose to wake up at 530 but woke up at 540.
2nd... suppose to get out of the house by 6 but ended up getting out at only 615.
3rd... waiting time for the trains during weekend is so much longer and we had to switch trains.
4th... tummyache... both piggy and i were having bad tummyache.
5th... long Q at the shuttle bus area.
6th... stuck in the traffic jam & when we look out of the window, we see people start running dy.
7th... by the time we reach there, it's already past flag off time and we hurried to toilet.
8th... no more time for proper warm up after we leave our stuff at the baggage counter.
9th... starts to drizzle and raining during the run.
10th... my knee starts to pain after running 5km and there's so many up and down hills.
BUT despite all the above, we all had fun and Life goes on... Be HAPPY! Hahaha...there's one thing good that I like, is that due to raining, the weather was pretty cooling.
This round timing no good... due to my poor knee... the down hill run was bad for my knees... so end up walking down hill most of the time... think have to start wearing 'knee-guard' to run dy next round. * sigh....
Here's the 'Goodie Bag' after the run... Finisher paper weight, a cap, a wristband and a small sports towel. I like the cute lion paper fan. = )

How u eat ur 'BANANA'?!?
I just find it funny when I saw how my colleague was eating the banana. Do you peel from the TOP or BOTTOM? Or should I say from the HEAD or TAIL? Gosh... now I'm very confused which is the head and which is the tail... hahaha...
OK...If you're looking at the picture, I usually peel my banana from the right side. 2 of my colleagues actually peel from the left side and it's the 1st time seeing it... So cute... coz when they peel from the left side, the banana is like pretty squashed.
Well, I guess there's no right or wrong in the way each of us eat the bananas. Just find it funny so blogged it up. = ))
How do you eat your Banana?!?

Yellow Ribbon Prison Run '09
My next run is this coming Sun (6th September 2009) at Changi. It's the 'Yelllow Ribbon Prison Run 2009'.
The running-T is 'BIG' and I actually took 'S' size. Piggy go take 'XXL' without measuring and assuming the biggest size should fit. Her T is 'HUGE' compared to the 'L' size NIKE T that I have from last year's SHAPE Run. And the quality sucks... Piggy said like wearing 'GUNI-sack'.
Oh ya...Piggy is doing the 10km run with me and she's regretting it already... saying that she can't finish it. Well, I believe she can do it if she use her 'VIOLIN' spirit to run her 10km. Hehehe... MCC and sis, as well as my gym mates are doing the run together too. The more the merrier ya... = )
No training again... = ( Well, hope weather is good this Sun and body condition is well. GANBATTE 2 ALL!!! =>

JUST BE HAPPY = )
Time really flies... it's now 2 years since I'm in Lion City. I wonder how long I would be here... ?!? Growing roots here?!? Nahh... hahaha... =p
Here's a nice article to share with all... received this through email from a friend.
"JUST BE HAPPY"
=============
Just be happy. Sounds too simplistic, doesn't it? But, in actuality, we can have much more happiness if we choose to consider things from a positive perspective.
Everyone experiences the ups and downs of life, however, we can make a decision to dwell on the negative or practice what the old saying says to do: "When life give you lemons, make lemonade!"
It really boils down to your attitude and you have the ability to mold your attitude into any shape you like.
Here are some tips:
-> Ignore those who tell you that life is too difficult to be happy. What do they know?
-> When you awaken each morning, be thankful for another day, even if it's raining.
-> Smile at those you meet, even if they don't return the favor.
-> Don't borrow trouble. Each day has enough of it's own.
-> Don't allow trouble to bury you in its gray mire of sorrow.
-> Don't give in to negative thinking.
-> Be positive even when others are not.
-> Refuse to give up on anything worth having or doing.
-> Do something you enjoy each day, even if it's just a walk in your neighborhood.
-> Whistle as you go through the day.
-> Work at being happy because it's worth it.
You're human, like everyone else, and from time to time you need a little pick-me-up in your decision to be happy. When you reach that stage, find someone else who has decided to be happy. Join forces with him or her and march forward in your decision to be a happy person.
Simply speaking, a happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes.
Choose today to just be happy - as much as it depends on you!
** I guess wherever you are... no matter in what situation... it's our own CHOICE to be 'HAPPY' or not... = )) HAPPY or SAD, it's just another day and Life goes on... May you all 'B-HAPI' always!!

Cold and Slimmy Intruder...
Yesterday morning, I had to throw away my breakfast. = ((
I was so shocked when I wanted to eat the bread that I had bought the night before. Luckily, I noticed the 'cold and slimmy' (* not sure if it's slimmy coz never really touched it... but I imagined it that way... ) intruder in the plastic bag before I passed the bread to my gym buddy. Hahaha... some more she tell me she not scared. :p
I left the bread in the living room but I guess I didn't tie the plastic bag tight enough that it managed to sneak in to sleep on my bread comfortably. Eughhh... and I was bringing it all around... in the train, to gym and all the way to office.
Lesson learnt... never leave the bread in the living room unless properly sealed.

HaPPily Ever After?!?
I find it very sad to see some friends divorcing, breaking up after years...even for the most loving couples. Some are just so unbelievable...
Just some thoughts running in mind...
Is there 'Happily Ever After' at all?
Love at 1st Sight...
Love U till Death Do US part...
Love 4Ever...
All Fairy Tales?!?
Falling in LOVE is always easy as 1,2,3...
Falling OUT of LOVE is also VERY easy...if you let it be...
I guess being in a marriage is not only...
Everyday saying 'I Love U'...
Every night making LOVE 2 u...
Every month give pocket $$$ 2 u.........
It's always easy to start a relationship and eventually tie a knot...
BUT it takes MORE than that to keep the relationship going andboth parties just have to work hard to make it happen. If you are not sure, please don't simply tie the knot. It's not a game to play. :p
Sometimes, if one party cannot stand the temptations to stray...things just go wrong everywhere. And once things go wrong, it wouldbe difficult to restore to the original state. Like the saying, once the glass is broken, no matter how you mend it, there's always a crack.
Nothing's perfect in this world. We can't have everything that's for sure.
I guess it's not easy to find someone who...
Loves u for who you are...
No matter how u looks...
No matter how u change in future...
No matter how your attitude is...
No matter what happens in future...
If you do find that person, feel lucky and be grateful to cherish them.
I really admire those old couples with white hair...those who lived to the quote, live together till hair become white.
Well, I just wish all the 'HAPPILY MARRIED' couples out there to have blissful marriage and hopefully to have a relationship 'white hair till old'. And to all that are getting married soon to have a long journey till the end. :)

OniBaba ---> Demon Hag
Today I went to the Japanese Film Festival at the SG National Museum to watch this film called 'Onibaba'. My gym buddy and I rushed like mad to the 2pm show from Bugis gym to Dhoby Ghaut. It was really like 'Amazing Race' and we were not very sure of the place. Hahaha.. We 'mandi kerbau' after our Steps class finish at 1:20pm and dashed our way there. Luckily, still make it in time but missed about 10 mins of the show. Didn't missed much though...
ONIBABA
Here's the synopsis from the 'Japanese Film Festival' website.
***********************************************************************************
In a war-torn 14th century Japan, a woman and her daughter-in-law eke out their living by ambushing worn-out fleeing warriors, killing them and selling their belongings. The woman begins to mistrust her daughter-in-law who couples up with a deserter. Obsessed with jealousy and the fear that the younger woman would leave her, she schemes to keep the younger woman by her side by wearing a demonic mask to scare the couple. To her horror, the mask becomes securely stuck to her face and her attempts to remove it result in the greatest horror of all. Partially based on the legends of onibaba (demon-hag), the film tells a dynamic story of unrestrained desires and instincts.
***********************************************************************************
My friend actually find some of the scenes pretty disturbing BUT it didn't really have much impact on me. I find it really funny though... the way they film some parts of the show. The show really shows how desperate one can be across time in certain situations. Human can be pretty violent in order to survive and protect themselves.
I guess everyone would have different feelings while watching the show. It's like different people would just interpret things differently while looking at the same thing or reading the same book. = )
** backlog in a lot of things... haven't been blogging much, HW piling up, room super-messy, lots of photos not sorted, slacking in running.... = (

Shape Run 2009 Results
Slight improvement from the last run, by a few minutes. The last Sundown 10km I took 1:17:19.89 and for this Shape 10km I took 01:13:41. Well, can't hope for much with no training. I hope I can clock within an hour soon, with training. Hahaha...
This year is really a running year. Never run so much in my life. I wonder if Piggy is regretting having a crazy roommate who makes her sign up all the runs together. Hahaha... Piggy & I signed up another run, just 5km only in Oct -> Pink Ribbon Run & Walk So, in total there would be 5 runs (45km) this year. = )

にほん (ほっかいど) え いきます
Time really flies.... it feels like just yesterday, we're discussing whether 'TO GO' or 'NOT TO GO' to HOKKAIDO for tour together and today's D-DAY. Hahaha... I'm suppose to be sleeping now BUT just still so wide awake. Just finished packing awhile ago.... last minute packing. = )
Hope I can survive the 6 1/2 hours flight to NARITA and another 1 1/2 hours flight transitting to HOKKAIDO. It would be 1 week tour to Hokkaido and 1/2 a day drop by at Tokyo before returning to Lion City. Can't wait for the excitement. AWAY from reality for 1 week and enjoy all I can before I go back to mountains of reality on my workstation. hahaha...
Have to wake up at 5:30am and still can't sleep at 1am. PIGGY reading her 'SALTY' books now coz she can't sleep with the lights on... think she gonna OINK at me when she read this. OK... I think I better be 'GOOD' and try to get my wink for at least 4 hours.
HOKKAIDO, here I come... = ) Nitey-nite...zZzz

SHAPE 10KM RUN 2009
This is the 2nd year doing SHAPE Run. Lucky to finish the race without training. Pheww... Didn't really check on the timing this time coz knee was not feeling pretty good this morning. I hope the timing is not worse off but maintain the same. Met a lot of people while running, some gym mate, colleagues and friends.
Next run would be on 6th Sept 2009 -> Yellow Ribbon Prison Run. (with Piggy :@) ... )
This is one of the run where most people joined for the goodies bag. Hahaha... Below is the goody bag with all the free sample stuff, plus all the vouchers for fitness centres, facials and spas.

Kolo Mee
One of my favourite food, 'KOLO MEE', which is one of my hometown -> 'MIAW-MIAW' city's specialty. Of course this own-cooked Kolo Mee does not taste as good as the ones that I missed from my hometown... can't even beat my mother's cooking. hahaha... Usual Kolo Mee comes with 'Char Siew' but my Kolo Mee comes with a giant cheesy sausage. 'East meets West' Kolo Mee. =p
* 1 more month to go and I will get to eat all the YUMMY food back in 'Miaw-Miaw' city....

Shape Run 2009 Race Kit
My GYM buddy helped me to collect the SHAPE RUN '09 race kit today as I was busy this morning. Went to settle some payment for my tour, then off to STEP class in the gym. Today, the step ss not so shiok... maybe coz lately, went to try out a few intermediate step classes and finding it more challenging. Hahaha... so when attending the beginner's class, feels pretty different.
This year's SHAPE run shirt is much nicer coz it's PINK and it's NIKE. = ) It's no longer GREEN. The shirt they gave out for the 1st 2 runs I joined last year was all GREEN, my least favourite colour. This time, number not so 'ONG'.... 2124... in chinese like easy to die. hahaha... lucky I not a pantang gal. I hope this year things will be more organized during the goodies bags collection after the run.
The run is just a week away, which is next SUN, 19th July 2009.
This is the 2nd 10km run this year. Planned to join the 'YellowRibbonPrison' and the 'GE10K' as well. Hmmm....does it count if I do 4 '10km' runs in a year EQUALS to one full marathon? hahaha...

New Toys
Last night, I companied my friend 'Li'l Buddha's wifey' to go buy shoes at Queensway Shopping Centre and we dropped by at IKEA for dinner. Yummy... the meatballs were nice but I like the chicken wings. Will bring Piggy, Chicky and wife there one day.... sure they will like it.
OMG... ppl at 'Lion City' are really 'X-treme'. I just try to google on this 7-11 promotion and I find out some of the sites below...
I ended up buying a 'NEW' toy for 'Cutie Pie'. It's a Giraffe in a 'Strawberry' vehicle. It's KAWAII though it's just a simple soft cushiony toy. I call it 'Ms. Spotty'. I hope she will like it.
Today, I bought some 'NEW' toys for myself. It's the 'Mr. Men & Little Miss' collection that is selling at 7-11. Not sure if they sell this back in Malaysia. I just want to get 'Ms. Notti' and 'Ms. Sunshine' BUT I don't see any of them even after buying 4 capsules. = ((
One capsule is $1.80 and there's 2 characters inside. You will need to purchase something from 7-11 before buying the capsules. Maybe I will try my luck again tomorrow... Remind me of those days when I so crazy about 'dan-dan' (capsules) with pooh inside. hahaha...

Now, these 3 are the most popular and wanted characters. People are willing to pay $10 for any one of these characters and up till $15 for Ms. Notti.
Mr. Strong
Mr. Bump
Ms. Notti
And there are people who bought more than 60 capsules. Oh no... does it mean that I will not get my favourite Ms. Notti... = ((( Or maybe this promo is just a hoax... there's only 1 Ms Notti out of millions out there... It's like trying to win lottery. And I'm always never lucky. Sigh...

Lovely Cutie Pie
'Cutie Pie' is getting cuter and cuter each day. Now she is so FUN to play with. Her hair just started to grow back after the shave couple of weeks back. She's with her new buddy, 'GOOFY', a new toy I got her when I went back for the weekends.
She's now 4 months plus and she's about 7kg. My friend's baby is only coming to 7kg nearing 1 year old. She's really growing fast.... so chubby and so nice to hug. She loves it when you sing her songs or tell her stories.
Seeing her really makes you 'HAPPY' even when you're dead tired. = ))

Potato in Japan taste better?!?
My colleagues all trying to place orders to ask me to buy this potato snack above, which is the french fries sold in small packs in a box of 10s. Ain't that cheap also... I think it's about 400Yen per box, which is about RM12. Everyone like it so much, saying that it's so yummy and tasted so different from other potato chips. For me, I can't really differentiate it. It tasted very potato and quite fresh only. Hahaha...
My boss was telling me that it's pretty hard to get this snack. He only managed to find it in Chitose Airport, where everyone was rushing to grab a box of it. Hahaha... so funny ya... Well, I'll know when I'm in Japan. = p
